Collecting is a passion of mine that started when I was a child growing up in Philadelphia during the 70s. However, it was not until the late 80's/early 90's that I became an avid collector of magazines that documented the African American experience in the US. From magazines, I indulged myself in collecting items such s dolls, toys,Heritage Stamps, household items and artifacts from key events.
Most of my items have been acquired by attending auctions, searching the web, shopping at flea markets and vintage shops at home and while traveling.
For some of you, this site will represent a new discovery. For others, it will be a chance to reminisce about people, events and items from the past or to add to your ever growing collection.
It is my goal to share some of the things that I have collected over the years and newly acquired items in hopes to bring about an awareness of their existence, to spark an interest to start collecting and to help someone find a piece to enhance their existing collection.
Enjoy!!
